An introduction to the fundamentals of the martial arts with the main emphasis on TaeKwon Do. This focus leads the children to becoming Champion Kids not only in the martial arts, but also in life in general. These life skills are built through the tenets of TaeKwon Do, words of the week, black belt attitude, forms, sparring, self-defense, terminology, weaponry, history, and fun of the martial arts.
Method of Instruction:
Technique, self esteem, confidence and fitness are all built through hands on instruction, class discussions and physical performance. This is a highly interactive program that emphasizes the importance of having self-control and respect for the students and others in and outside of the program.
To create champion kids in the martial arts and in life.
Your child’s positive attitude and wanting to partake in our Champion Kids program is needed in order for us to continue the positive synergy of our program. Students must also be of elementary school age or older to participate. Depending on the child, some children may not be ready, even at the elementary school level, for participation in the program. Champion Kids reserves the right to make the decision, of whether your child is ready for participation, based on the child’s attention span, behavior, and maturity level.
Participation in all classroom activities is highly encouraged and recommended in order for students to grow and advance through our belt ranking system. In order to be successful in our program, and advance, students must make a commitment to attend and participate in classes on a regular basis. Champion Kids recommends that, in order to see this growth, a commitment of at least two days per week is necessary.
All students are required, at all times, to follow the instruction/instructors, with courtesy and respect. Disruptive behavior, at any time, is unacceptable and cause for suspension and/or removal from the program. Each child will be given two verbal warnings prior to the suspension. Parents will also be notified of warning(s). Parents/Students absent from class should extend the courtesy of a telephone call in order to reserve/hold your child’s spot in the ‘Champion Kids’program. If communication is not made to North Florida Martial Arts, Inc. in regards to your child’s absence, NFMA reserves the right to relinquish your child’s spot to another. Therefore we cannot guarantee any space unless communication is made.
